The #1 cause of preventable death after an injury is bleeding. In an emergency—like an accident, disaster, or other traumatic event—a person can bleed to death in minutes. No matter how quickly emergency professionals respond, individuals on the scene are best positioned to assist and potentially stop life-threatening blood loss.

In under 60 minutes, you can gain the skills to be an immediate responder for a friend, family member, coworker, or stranger. You will enhance your emergency preparedness by learning the distinction between bleeding and life-threatening blood loss, as well as how to respond to both. Participants will practice using tourniquets and wound packing techniques.
